About Me

My name is Jacob, and I created this site with one purpose in mind: to help people understand the Hebrew Bible in its original context. After spending 16 years as a Christian, I eventually realized that many of the teachings I had accepted were based on interpretations that didn’t align with the plain meaning of the Hebrew Scriptures. That journey led me to become a Noahide, someone who follows the ethical and spiritual path rooted in the Hebrew Bible and connected to the faith and wisdom of Judaism.

Because of my background, I understand Christian teachings from the inside — how they’re presented, how verses are used, and how the New Testament is often placed over the Hebrew Bible in ways that distort its meaning. Today, I use that experience to defend Judaism against missionary claims, clarify common misunderstandings, and expose misinterpretations found in the New Testament when they conflict with the Hebrew Bible.

My goal is clarity. I focus on what the Hebrew Bible actually says — in its language, its history, and its context. Whether I’m breaking down a verse, addressing a missionary argument, or explaining a Hebrew term, I approach every topic with the same commitment: truth, accuracy, and respect for the text.

I believe the Hebrew Bible speaks powerfully on its own when we let it. That’s why everything on this site is grounded in context — literary, historical, and linguistic. My aim is to make these insights accessible to anyone, whether you’re deeply familiar with Scripture or just beginning to explore it.

If you’re here to learn, question, study, or simply understand the text more clearly, you’re in the right place. I’m glad you’re here, and I hope the articles and resources on this site help you see the Hebrew Bible with fresh clarity and confidence.

My Mentors

Rabbi Federow is widely known for his work in interfaith dialogue, his clear explanations of Jewish belief, and his ability to address Christian missionary claims with patience, scholarship, and respect. He is also the author of Judaism and Christianity: A Contrast and The Real Reasons Why Jews Don’t Believe in Jesus, two books that help readers understand the differences between the two faiths. In addition to his public work, Rabbi Federow has been my mentor, guiding me personally and teaching me much of what I know today. His insight, clarity, and dedication to honest study have shaped my own approach to learning, teaching, and responding to missionary arguments. Even in retirement, he continues to teach, write, and participate in interfaith discussions, remaining a trusted voice for those seeking a deeper understanding of Judaism.

William Hall is the host and creator of Tanakh Talk, a live call‑in program dedicated to exploring the Hebrew Scriptures and helping people break free from missionary teachings. An ex‑preacher and the son of a preacher, William made the courageous decision to leave the New Testament behind entirely — both Christian and Messianic — after discovering the teachings of Rabbi Tovia Singer and others like him. In November 2014, Rabbi Singer personally asked William to host a live Q&A broadcast, and from that moment, the journey of Tanakh Talk began. Since then, William has become a trusted voice for thousands of seekers, guiding people with honesty, humility, and a deep understanding of the Christian and Messianic movements and their tactics. William was also the first member of the Tanakh Talk team I ever spoke to, and he quickly became a dear friend and mentor. He has taught me so much — not only about Scripture, but about how to think clearly, research deeply, and communicate with integrity. He inspired me to create this website and even helped shape the design and artwork for my YouTube channel. His kindness, insight, and dedication continue to influence my work every day.

Greg McBride is a dedicated Noahide teacher whose knowledge of the Hebrew Bible is both vast and precise. He is known for his clear explanations, sharp wit, and the natural charm he brings to even the most complex discussions. Greg has spent years studying not only the Tanakh, but also the Christian Bible, which he analyzes and refutes with a combination of scholarship, humor, and a deep respect for the original Hebrew context. He is also the long‑time co‑host of the popular YouTube program Tanakh Talk with William Hall, where he helps thousands of viewers understand the Hebrew Scriptures and navigate common Christian missionary claims. As a fellow Noahide, Greg has been one of my mentors, teaching me much of what I know about the Prophets and the sacrifices. He has guided me through the writings of the prophets, the meaning and purpose of sacrifices, and the discussions surrounding the Third Temple. His patience, insight, and ability to make difficult topics understandable have shaped my own approach to learning and teaching.
